Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park, just 2-3 hours from Arusha, is famous for its large elephant herds and diverse birdlife—ideal for wildlife and birdwatching.
Ngorongoro Crater
West of Arusha (3-4 hr drive). Unique volcanic crater with wildlife and Maasai people. World Heritage Site. Olduvai Gorge nearby.
Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara is famous for its flocks of flamingos, tree-climbing lions, and wildlife like elephants and zebras.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Tarangire National Park
Depart from your Arusha hotel in the morning and head to Tarangire National Park. Enjoy a game drive, stop for a picnic lunch, and continue your wildlife sighting in the afternoon. Stay overnight at a lodge inside the park.
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, we depart for Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive in the “natural zoo” on the crater floor. We’ll have a picnic lunch there. In the afternoon, we’ll head back to our lodge in Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, we will depart for Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive along the lake. We will look for hippos, elephants, giraffes, and birdlife. We might also see tree-climbing lions. We’ll stop for a picnic lunch with a lake view. In the afternoon, we’ll head to Arusha, where the safari ends.
