Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park, just 2-3 hours from Arusha, is famous for its large elephant herds and diverse birdlife—ideal for wildlife and birdwatching.
Serengeti
The Serengeti is renowned for its vast landscapes, incredible wildlife migrations, and iconic animals like lions, elephants, and cheetahs.
Ngorongoro Crater
West of Arusha (3-4 hr drive). Unique volcanic crater with wildlife and Maasai people. World Heritage Site. Olduvai Gorge nearby.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Arusha. Enjoy a relaxing evening, preparing for your adventure. A welcome dinner introduces you to Tanzanian cuisine and culture.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
Drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Enjoy an afternoon game drive, spotting elephants, giraffes, and a variety of birds. Overnight at a lodge within the park.
Day 3: Tarangire to Serengeti
Journey to the Serengeti, Tanzania’s most famous park. En route, pass through the scenic landscapes and witness the wildlife. Arrive in Serengeti for an evening game drive, exploring the vast plains and diverse fauna.
Day 4: Full Day in Serengeti
Spend the day exploring the Serengeti, with morning and afternoon game drives. Look out for the Big Five and other wildlife. In between, relax at your lodge, enjoying the spectacular views and amenities.
Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
Depart for Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Descend into the crater for a unique safari experience, observing a dense concentration of wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool and return to your lodge for dinner
Day 6: Full Day in Ngorongoro Crater
Spend the day exploring Ngorongoro Crater. Go on game drives to see the rich variety of wildlife. Learn about the crater’s history and ecology from your guide. Relax at your lodge in the evening
Day 7: Departure
After breakfast, drive back to Arusha. Depending on your flight schedule, explore local markets or relax before transferring to the airport for your departure.
