Stone Town, Zanzibar’s historic heart, boasts narrow streets, ancient architecture, vibrant markets, and rich Swahili culture, showcasing its diverse heritage.
Jozani Forest
Jozani Forest, Zanzibar’s sole national park, sits 36 km from Stone Town, spanning 50 sq km and home to diverse wildlife, including the rare red colobus monkey.
Nungwi Beach
Nungwi Beach in northern Zanzibar boasts white sands, turquoise waters, and vibrant marine life, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and unwinding.
Prison Island
Prison Island, or Changuu Island, lies 3.5 km from Stone Town and is known for its prison ruins, giant tortoises, and serene beach.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome To Zanzibar!
Breathe easy as you arrive in Zanzibar. Our driver will be at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, ready to pick you up and drop you at your hotel – Le Mersenne Zanzibar, Autograph Collection. Enjoy a delightful dinner at the hotel and rest for the night.
Day 2: Stone Town Exploration and Prison Island
After breakfast, leave the hotel for a drive to Stone Town in Unguja. Unravel Stone Town’s rich history on a guided tour, exploring its narrow streets, bustling markets, the House of Wonders, the Sultan’s Palace, and the Old Fort. Visit the former slave market site to understand its complex past.
Late in the morning, set sail for a historical adventure on Prison Island. Learn about its intriguing past as a prison and quarantine station, and meet the island’s famous giant tortoises. Enjoy the serene beaches and clear waters. After your island adventure, return to your hotel for a relaxing evening.
Day 3: Jozani Forest and Spice Tour
Today, explore Zanzibar’s natural beauty. Start with a one-hour drive to Jozani Forest, the island’s largest remaining forest. Spot rare red colobus monkeys and walk through the Mangrove Boardwalk to see the unique mangrove ecosystem.
Later, visit a local spice farm for a Spice Tour. Learn about Zanzibar’s spice history and smell fresh vanilla, cinnamon, and cloves. We will then transfer you to the north to Nungwi for a relaxing evening.
Day 4: Nungwi Beach and Departure
Today, enjoy the beauty of Nungwi Beach with its soft white sands and clear waters. Spend your day relaxing, swimming, and exploring the vibrant marine life through activities like snorkeling and diving.
Take in the serene atmosphere and make the most of your final moments in Zanzibar. Later, you’ll transfer to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, depending on your flight schedule for departure.
